The line of Science

Now is the time for a breakthrough in cancer research. In the former century it was a necessity that scientists working together would form teams that worked in a single location. Communication was poor if not impossible .

Nowadays communication-tools are good, fast and reliable. Therefore we will start by bringing together the best scientists of the participating countries. One Cancer Research Centre in each country will suffice. With modern communication tools these centres can exchange knowledge and data. It´s obvious that there should be an obligation to share. In the UK such a centre is already being set up.

In the Netherlands this Centre should be initiated by one of the most renowned cancer research institutes. An inspiring role is played by the The Royal Netherlands Academy of Arts and Sciences (KNAW).

We started talks with the KNAW and aim for a conference on Understanding Life with 10 to 15 scientists in 2009 and a global conference organised in 2010 by the KNAW with hundreds of scientist of different disciplines (not only medical scientists). Mr Robbert Dijkgraaf, president of the KNAW is allready thinking on this subject!
